FOODWELOVE JULY

Het is weer tijd voor onze maandelijkse FoodWeLove post!

Toen we vorige maand onze post online zetten, dachten we

laten we volgende maand eens een filmpje doen! 

Leuk idee, maar dat dachten veel meer enthousiaste foodbloggers. Omdat we

niet thuis waren toen de box arriveerde (4 dagen later pas) vonden we

het een beetje overbodig om de inhoud te filmen, dus hebben we gewoon geprobeerd

hele mooie foto's te maken!

PREUVERIE; THE DAY AFTER

Na een paar dagen radiostilte (Berlijn, terugreis, Preuverie, familiebezoekjes, ziek zijn tussendoor, regelen voor de nieuwe website (bijna)) zijn we gelukkig weer up and running! 

Gisteravond was de laatste avond van de Preuverie,

vrijdag is meestal de drukste, mooiste en gezelligste dag, en rond een uur of 20.00

besloten we op onze fietsen richting het marktplein van Winterswijk te fietsen!

We begonnen bij Paganini, waar de moeder van C werkt! Daar kregen we dit spiesje van ree,

daarnaast hebben we onder andere pasta, sprinkhaan, tartaar en kaasloempia's en dronken we hippe nieuwe drankjes! Kijk je mee?

CULINAIRY ROADTRIP; FOODTRIP!

We hebben VAKANTIE!

Bijna 2 weken, dus vonden we het tijd voor een foodtrip!

We gaan naar Antwerpen, Berlijn en.. naar Oldenzaal

Een foodtrip? Ja! Een soort van roadtrip, alleen met

veel meer eten(A). We willen leuke hotspots gaan ontdekken, en zullen

jullie natuurlijk op de hoogte houden!

Toen we vorige maand de Food We Love box openden

was een van de producten dit 'Chewy spiced cranberry cookie'

We hadden er wel eens iets over gehoord maar nog nooit geproefd..

Tot gisteren!

PREUVERIE: COUNTING THE DAYS

C komt uit Winterswijk, een klein dorpje, waar elk jaar een aantal highlights 

op de agenda staan...

Onze favoriet is met stip De Preuverie!

Een 3 dagen durend 'food festival' op de markt! 

Interested?!

Alle deelnemende restaurants (en dat zijn er al gauw een stuk of 20)

richten een tent in en transformeren deze tot hun tijdelijke pop-up restaurant. 

Het is een feest om alle, wit-gepunte, tenten ingericht om de kerk op de markt te zien staan!

Er zijn vernieuwende restaurants, maar ook restaurants die al jaren ambachtelijke poffertjes bakken, afgetopt met roomboter, poedersuiker of een scheutje Grand Manier!

Op 24 juli wordt De Preuverie om 19.00 geopend door de Burgermeester van Winterswijk 

en daarna ben je bij alle restaurants van harte welkom om 

hun culinaire hoogstandjes te proberen! 

Binnenkort nog veel meer informatie over de restaurants en keukens die aanwezig zullen zijn!

OFF WE GO!

Dear readers,

The passed 6 months have been a lot about

old job, new job, new school, working and ofcourse blogging..

We have been very busy and have not had a few days of in a really long time,

so tomorrow we will be flying to Spain for some time for 2,

love, happiness and ofcourse, food!

We will be back next week and we will probably return with loads of

hotspots, foodporn and other holiday related pictures!

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

We have not been posting a lot the passed few days,

that is because we're working on a new website(and we'll change our name a little bit)

We hope to get our website up and running within two weeks and to see you there...

RESTAURANT IVY / RESTAURANT FG

A few months ago, IVY, a michelin star restaurant in Rotterdam, 

got the message to change their name, because a British company already used the name 'The Ivy'

and they went to court.

So, they had to change their name. And they did!

The restaurant will be soon be turned into 'Restaurant FG'

FG stands for Francois Geurds, the owner and head of the kitchen...

Today we got the first look of their new logo on Twitter.. 

What do you think?! 

We are very curious about other changes, like the website!

RECIPE: GREEN VEGETABLES & GOATSCHEESE!

Last night, C was eating alone and was feeling for something

green and white.

And because it was VERY good, she wants to share the recipe...

What you need?

- Green asperagus

- Courgette

- Mushrooms(any sort you like)

- Paksoi

- Teriyaki (I like honey and garlic) or soy sauce

- Goats cheese

- Honey(C chose the Lindenhoning we got out of our April FoodWeLove box)

- Gas burner

Last week it was time for our 3rd FoodWeLove box!

We're still very, very, very exited from the 15th 'till the box finally reaches us!

HOTSPOT: RESTAURANT DE KAS

A few weeks ago, C went to Amsterdam for school!

It was a day to explore several (hotel, restaurant and catering) companies.

After a busy day, she went to Restaurant De Kas for lunch!

C told some people about this restaurant and apparently she/we

were a little late discovering it...

Anyhow! WHAT A GREAT RESTAURANT. 

We would advise EVERYBODY to go there. It's amazing!

Enough said. Go see the pictures,

and when you are around Amsterdam, PLEASE, please, PLEASE

take some time to go!

De Kas uses all vegetables from their own glasshouse, the waiters are great, the food is on 

such a good leven(couldn't be any different because the owner used earned a Michelin star in his last company). 

We think it's SO cool. And we definetly want to go there again, so C can show M the greatness of this cool concept!

NESPRESSO LIMITED EDITION!

Last week we went to lunch two hours away(you'll get a GREAT review tomorrow!)

and on our way back, we stopped at Bijenkorf to buy some new home stuff 

and also some Nespresso!

Always nice. We always feel sort of special at Nespresso, they give great service, always a cup of coffee, new items almost every month.. well, see the limited edition and other stuff we got last week!

The date was set, 12 March. 

On the date, C went to Bijenkorf and didn't see them around the food counter.

A little dissapointed she putted al her hopes on the friendly store attendant.

'OH! You're early! They just came in! I'll get tem for you!'

A few minutes later, C walked out with a bag filled with MJ x Coca Cola Light bottles!

This week we discovered a really cool new idea in foodland

(well, we guess it is quite new since they only started this december and we've never seen it before!)

FoodWeLove is a box. A box full of surprises!

The philosofy behind it:

When you know where food comes from, it tastes better and gives a great experience!

Every month you'll get 5-7 products in a box, you don't know what's in there, that is the surprise! But you do know that it contains products of the best quality and with a great story behind it.

Almost everything looks great and comes in full size, no sample sizes at all, and if there's

something in the box you don't like.. it wil make a great gift!

We immediatly signed up and guess what?! The box is already in!

C is actually jumping around the room!

RECIPE: HOMEMADE BURGERS!

Yesterday we had the night off together and decided to make our own hamburgers for dinner!

What you need:

For the burger

- Meat(minced)

- Onion

- Garlic

- Ketchup

- Soja

- Mustard

Cut onions as small as you can, do the same with garlic and put this in a large bowl.

Add the meat, a tablespoon of ketchup, teaspoon of mustard and a teaspoon of soja.

Mix together and try to get pieces of 90 gramms per burger. Shape as below...

Dress up time!

What you need:

- Any burger bun

- Mayo(we used truffel)

- Ketchup

- Crispy onions

- Bacon

VDAY!

When we give gifts, they are mostly involving food..

Yesterday, when M came home from work, he brought a surprise for C AGAIN!

"just a little v-day gift"

2 pairs of sushi sticks and something C was craving for since..well, forever, a honeystick!

And guess what?! Another good reason to have sushi in the near future.. I'm guessing Tuesday!
